Justin Bieber Unveils Believe Track List

Justin Bieber is four weeks away from dropping Believe, and from the looks of it, there's going to be some major collaborations on there. The teen star released the album's track list over the weekend, and he's managed to get some of the biggest names in hip-hop to guest on it.
While he had hit the studio with Kanye West, Yeezy didn't make the final cut, but Ludacris, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj and Drake did. His mentor, Usher, will serve as the executive producer on the album, according toCapital FM.
Justin Bieber Breaks Down Billboard Awards 'Boyfriend' Performance
All those duets are intriguing, but fans might be most excited to hear what Bieber and Drizzy are up to on the track "Right Here." "He's a great guy and super-talented, and his melodies are crazy," Bieber told MTV News about working with the Canadian MC. "When we go into the studio, he'll go in the booth and he'll do some melodies and we'll write." Bieber also reportedly worked with Taylor Swift on the album, but it is unclear whether it was for a duet that didn't make the cut or a writing session. To get fans hyped for the release, Bieber performed at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night, where he showed off his growing abilities as a dancer. "This performance is going to be fun. I practiced a lot in the dance studio," Bieber told MTV News on the red carpet. "I've been working hard, and I can't wait to show the fans what I've been working so hard on."

Justin Bieber's 'Believe' is year's top-selling debut so far

Justin Bieber's believers have sent his new album to the top of Billboard.

Believe lands at No. 1 after selling 374,000 copies, the biggest debut so far this year, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's also his fourth No. 1 album and his best sales week, eclipsing the 291,000 copies logged by My World 2.0 for its second week in April 2010.
It's not the year's biggest week overall. That belongs to Adele's 21, which sold 730,000 copies the week after herGrammy Awards wins. And Bieber's total falls below initial projections of 410,000 to 440,000 that were based on enormous first-day sales and pre-orders. Those predictions were scaled back by Sunday.

Considering the difficult climate for album sales, Bieber's mark "is a very robust number," says Keith Caulfield,Billboard's associate director of charts. "That Bieber can have the biggest opening week of the year says that he's doing a good job. It's always tough making that transition from tweeny-teeny pop star to young adult. It's a challenge, and he seems to be doing quite well so far."
Believe's opening week, the largest since Drake's Take Care sold 631,000 in December, jumps past Madonna'sMDNA, the former 2012 leader with 359,000.
Bieber previously reached the Billboard summit with My World 2.0NeverSay Never: The Remixes and Under the Mistletoe. His 2009 debut, My World, peaked at No. 5.

Justin Bieber single co-produced by Harrisburg

Bieber fever is spreading with the release of Justin Bieber’s new album “Believe” and Harrisburg is partly to credit.

That’s because the second single off the album, “Die in Your Arms,” has a Harrisburg native on the credits — Dennis “Aganee” Jenkins.

Jenkins, who splits his time between Harrisburg and Los Angeles, co-produced the song with legendary hip-hop producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and Travis Sayles.

When Jenkins began working on it, he was playing around with samples from the Michael Jackson’s song “We Got a Good Thing Going.”

“I was getting ready to pretty much walk away from the beat... and Travis was like, ‘finish that up and let’s do something with that,’” Jenkins said. “Honestly, [this song] almost didn’t happen. It almost got closed up and put away.”

Instead, the three producers set to work turning Jenkins' experiment into a song.

“I wanted to give it a classic hip hop feel,” Jenkins said. “That’s where the synthetic drums came in, and that just got [the song] moving. It gave it a different sound, it felt retro and it also felt new.”

When they had finished, the three still had no idea what would happen to the song, but they knew they had something special.

Everything changed once Bieber heard it. “From what I was told, as soon as he heard the record he was in love with it,” Jenkins said.

It became Bieber’s second single off “Believe,” and last week reached No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart

Jenkins grew up in Harrisburg, going to city schools and two years at Bishop McDevitt High School.

It was in Harrisburg city schools that he was introduced to music theory and it was in the city’s hip hop scene that he developed his sound.

“Harrisburg is such a plethora of different styles and just creativeness. There’s so many different artists in the area and there’s a lot of talent here,” Jenkins said. “It’s like a melting pot of different sounds.”

In working with rap artists in the city, Jenkins learned to seamlessly switch between Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern-influenced hip hop beats.

“I never wanted to lock myself into a set stamped sound.” he said. “I always wanted to be outside of the box and be able to cater to anybody. And if a country artist comes to me — I’m not saying I’m going to nail it, but I’m going to try my hardest to nail it.”

His production work with local artists is something Jenkins credits for his success. For two years, he was named the best producer by the Central Pennsylvania Hip Hop Awards. Once his name was out in the hip hop circuit, it caught the eye of his manager, Buzz, who hooked him up with Jerkins.

Jenkins is incredibly excited. “This has to be the biggest moment in my life,” he said. “Imagine, you’re in the World Series, bases are loaded, you’re down two and you come up to bat and swing— and you win the game. That’s how it feels.

“It couldn’t get any bigger than Justin Bieber,” he said. “It has just opened the floodgates for so many other big things.”

It’s also exciting for his daughter Faith Johnson, 10, who was ecstatic when she heard the news.

Among other big things Jenkins is working on include Christina Aguilera’s new album and doing songs with rapper Nas.

Justin Bieber Secures Biggest Selling Debut Of 2012

Justin Bieber has notched up the biggest selling debut album of the year, shifting 374,000 copies of his latest album 'Believe' in its first week of sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The record will comfortably secure the 18-year-old his fourth No.1 album on the Billboard 200, following 2009's 'My World', 2011's 'Never Say Never: The Remixes' and his holiday record 'Under the Mistletoe'.
His success with 'Believe' relegated Bieber's mentor Usher into second spot, with his new album 'Looking 4 Myself'. The teen sensation's latest record has now outsold Madonna's 'Mdna' which debuted with 359,000 despite suffering an almighty drop in sales the following week. Though 'Believe' has secured the top spot, he was unable to land the honor of topping the best sales week for an album, which is still held by Adele who sold 730,000 copies of '21' following his six Grammy Award wins in February. It's already been a hugely successful year for Bieber, who embarked on a worldwide tour and nearly caused officials in Norway to call a state of national emergency, such was the excitement for his appearance in Oslo. However, a television special about the singer 'All Around the World' aired over two nights on Nbc last week and did worse than expected, pulling in less than 3.5 million viewers each night.
Bieber's latest record represents a more mature musical direction for the Canadian singer. Guests on the album include Drake, Ludacris, Nicki Minaj and BIG SEAN.
